Which is safer, the cyber world or the real world?

The question explains it all.

Which is safer and why?

Dec 16 2011: I'd say that in both these "worlds" your safety depends on what neighborhood you hang out in, how much time you spend there, and what measures you take to protect yourself. All these require care to improve your chances of safety.
  • Dec 12 2011: I agree with Mikhail that the "cyberworld" is more a product of the real world than an actual world in itself. Think about cyber-bullying. It may appear that it is a product of the "cyberworld," but people are truly acting behind that for malicious purposes in real life. The Internet is simply a tool that can be used for good or for ill.
  • Dec 11 2011: Cyber world is safer. In cyberspace, one is invunerable to anything but psycological damage, though you are slightly protected from it as you can be anonymous.
In the real world, not only can a car hit you (or anything else for that matter), you can suffer from the same psycological damage as you can in the cyber world.

Dec 2 2011: There is no cyber world. It is just a word someone came up with. It is just formatted data people use to talk to each other in the real world. Most websites are designed by few people for millions of people to use. The website will go down quickly if there are no people visiting the site. It is all dependent on real-world people. There may be different etiquette and rules or none at all on the "cyber world", but all it is is people. If you fall for a phishing scam your real world identity can be stolen, not some cyber-world backup.
