Is it possible to talk about before the beginning of the universe?

Time is a part of the measuring system used to sequence events, to compare the durations of events and the intervals between them, and to quantify rates of change such as the motions of objects (wikipedia's definition) or we can call it the forth dimension. But in both way time belongs to our universe. There could be no time or no before without our universe. What do you think about it?

    Nov 30 2011: Look up the recent writings of Lisa Randall. Warped Passages is a good start. It needs to be discussed as time is a human construct and we have attempted to make it something that we can grasp with our very limited perceptions in a linear manner. I suspect that our linearity is as false and limiting as our once upon a conviction belief that the earth was the center of the universe.

    Nov 30 2011: It's all so hard to think about and yet so exciting. Let's talk! The guy that travels to a black hole and back doesn't age like us back on earth. Wow! We have instruments that measure disparities in time just from traveling in space for a bit (I think I have that right). Another wow! What if something is discovered about the 'before'? I want to live a long life just to hear about it.

    Time is a function by which the mind makes comparisons.

    As a tree is within the seed so is the unfolding of the universe one moment only which appears to us as a long time.

    There isn't a before or hereafter, there is only our viewpoint at some place within from which we witness the unfolding.

      Nov 30 2011: Thank Frans, i am impressed with your idea again. But we measure time or put events in an order by looking their places or lenght of them inside the lines which take part in forth dimension. But we have all dimensions just in this universe. There is no time, no measurement, no duration or no sequence of events. I think there is no need to any before from beginning of universe.

    points out "The Body (meaning not only physical/personal but Universe) came out of Us not we from it".

    So why not "talk" about it?
