"The World We Create" Creating original music to drive people forward within an uncertain world.

With all of the turmoil and opportunity in this world, it is more important than ever to encourage art, creativity, business and innovation.

As a musician, I wish to create a piece and possibly a whole album centered on the theme of "The World We Create" together as artists, entrepreneurs, government and consumers.

I am looking for input from everyone to make this happen.

  • Nov 30 2011: I think this is a wonderful idea. As an independent musician I think it's important that we do all we can to affect, in a positive way, the world around us.Music is a powerful force to that end. It can make people feel every emotion within the spectrum of emotions. If possible it would be a wonderful thing to gather several talented musicians together and create an album of inspiration, hope, and triumph over adversity.I think the first step is to get word out to other independent musicians, see who would be interested in lending their music to such an endeavor, then establish a board of some sort to determine which tracks would be selected for the album itself.I can imagine that if notices were sent to various music halls and schools the response would be overwhelming. By the use of volunteers all of this could be managed effectively and efficiently. As a musician I would definitely offer my services in whatever capacity deemed appropriate; in addition to submitting my own music to the cause. So with that said, consider me on board. To let you know a bit more about me you can visit my website www.daviej.comI hope this was helpful in inspiring you to continue with this worthwhile endeavor. Please do continue reaching out to other musicians, independent or otherwise, as I know this is a great idea and a worthwhile effort. If you any questions or need to contact me you may do so at this e-mail address: daviej@sprynet.comhope to hear from you soon.Davie J

Nov 20 2011: There are plenty of songs about love and partying.

Where are songs which feed the human spirit?
The biggest issue, even facing Top 40 performers is providing value.

So, why not approach this slightly differently?

By creating music which speaks to people beyond the "party" trend, musicians can connect and inspire.

Hopefully if listeners value it, they will patronize the musician(s) out of gratitude and spread the word.

A creative business model with a soul. (Emphasis on soul and creative before business.)

The link above is a song I wrote which I'll donate to the cause if it fits the model.
Good luck on your project. I do think music can be THE stimulus for positive change.

Nov 19 2011: There is so much power in music. It's one of our biggest programmers as humans. We definitely need music with more progressive thinking, and doing, and being to help with our productivity!

      Nov 19 2011: Agreed.

Music is the universal language which connects us with a time and a place.
I wrote a draft to a story where music literally was a power that people had to unite under to save a world.

I like to use synthesis, mostly because new textures can be created and sounds can be manipulated.

It can be created in such a way that it reaches out to more people, which is important.

There must be a way to convey the message without it sounding too preachy or too cliche.
