What's one importat thing that you have learned from your friend/friends? Why was it important to you?

People are able to learn a lot from their friends. I learned from my friend that being honest is important.

So, can you think of one thing, the most important thing that you have learned from your friend.

    Nov 8 2011: Being there for each other no matter what the circumstances are. It makes you feel loved & that you matter. I know that i can talk to a friend when i can't talk about my worries with the people around me. It keeps me sane.

    Nov 6 2011: It is interesting to look back on your life and see all the friends you have had. Maybe you have the same ones from when you were tiny. The growing and bringing new friends into your circle helps you stretch. Knowing which friend can and will be there when you stretched maybe too much for the moment is important. I have learned that you have many friends to help guide you along your path. If you wrote a list of all your friends and in the next column wrote how they help you grow. Then another column of how you help them on their journey, this can sometimes help manage the frustration of asking them for what they cannot give.

      Nov 6 2011: Really great Juliette, this is also what I have learned from friends. We have a basket full of needs and they are met by different people. Knowing that helps manage frustration for going to the same person for all your needs. I love this saying....stop going to the store that is closed.

    I should have thought that my English play on words might not be understood by all. But, emm dubahew explained it well and thank you emm dubahew for that.

    No I'm not pessimistic nor am I optimistic. I just try to see what is real and true, as I understand it of course, and then I have to practice or easily accept, how things are. I don't like the duality of optimism/pessimism. When most want security (and each one provides its own form of it), I want freedom and there is a lot that comes with that, that requires acceptance and honesty.

    So, I don't practice negative thinking or positive thinking. What I do is pause, and wait for the right answer, thought or intuition and then act. If I sense, feel or think nothing has come then I make a decision and follow through on it - meaning I take a step. That is why I wrote, "the mind creates the abyss and the heart must cross this."

    So, to use another play on words with you (if you return and see this) I practice "pausitive thinking rather than positive thinking. I pause, wait, intuit and then act. Hope you understand.

    Nov 4 2011: friends form a very important part of ones life. as we grow we make new friends and believe it or not every friend that comes in your life teaches you something. What i learned from my friends and what has helped me to be a person i am today is trust, trust is the thing that keeps your life going. whatever decision you make in life you have to trust that decision whether good or bad, because it was made by you. this the most important thing that i learned and that keeps me going each day of life...

    Nov 4 2011: The most important things i have learned as it pertains to me, are attributes of myself. From my experience, the more intimate a relation ship with someone, the greater capacity for them to reflect back things about me that i may not have known. I think many of us "think" we know who we are, however, i don't think we can truly understand our own consciousness with out the help of other loving people.

    Nov 4 2011: Yeah, my best friend - She made me realize loving others unconditionally is the most awesome thing, which stay always in your heart for ever.
    my another friend - She used to call everyone like, dear, darling, etc.. - i got this good habit from her - this indeed improves human value,how we respect n love others which makes ourself valuable =)

    Nov 4 2011: Hello. From one of my friends I have learnt have important is to believe in ourself and how much power we have over our lives (in the decisions we make). We can't let other people ruin our dreams or makes us feel small :)

    Nov 4 2011: I have wonderful friends, and they have definitely taught me a great deal. One of the most important lessons I've learned from my friends is that no matter how big and numerous our troubles are, we can always seek comfort in our loved ones. Also, they have taught me the value of acceptance, and the euphoria of belonging. I have been blessed with an amazing set of high school batch mates, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This has done wonders for my self-confidence self-esteem and so I vow to carry on with our legacy and be as accepting of others as I can. There's always going to be the shy girl sitting in the corner afraid to speak up, and I intend to be on the other end of the stick next time.

    Nov 3 2011: I have learned so much from friends. Friends can make very different perspectives understandable because you assume that they have your best interests at heart. I have learned a lot about how much loyalty and support can mean when you are sick or discouraged. I have learned many practical skills too. The biggest thing that I have learned though is that they are precious and indispensible to me.

    Nov 2 2011: I have learned that it is important to work the relationship. any relationship is demanding. this is the biggest lesson I have learned from my friends. and in general with all the people I am connected to, family, husband, colleagues. all needs work. support and availability.

    Nov 2 2011: I am sorry to say, the most important thing, I learned was and is not to trust. I learned to watch my back. ( yea, thanks friends?) I adopted a saying, (from a friend) "think of me as a splinter, as you slide down, the bannister of life"
    So, that is the "one important thing" I have learned. Oh, Hi allsa!! :) Good question!

    Oct 31 2011: Don't procrastinate and make fool of yourself by thinking you are the coolest person on this world, instead do your best to not procrastinate, and get creative :)

    It motivated me to help and inspire people, make them see that there is more to life than procrastination.

    Oct 26 2011: I've learned a lot about hard work from my friends. They're really hard working people through the good and bad times. I've always admired their dedication and perseverance because those are important skills to have to succeed (imho).
