Is it possible to change the world? and if so, what would you change?

I think it's possible to change to world as we know it, but must include two things.
1. It must improve mankind.
2. The majority of mankind doesn't see it as an bad thing.

What is your idea or solution, and are these restrictions compatible with it?

Oct 19 2011: Getting rid of superstitons interferes with your second rule. But this brings forth another philosophical question?

Should we care about what the majority thinks? If the minority knows, shouldn't we let them decide for the pack? And of course, I don't mean that the minority should have authority of opinion. I mean actual knowledge.
Like vaccination to stop pandemics. Like general relativity, like natural selection, ...

So I wouldn't bother with your second rule. And this is my idea to improve the world :

get rid of superstition holding back creativity and knowledge growth, which are necessary to improve comfort and means of survival. Who knows where we'd be if christianism hadn't been there to interfere with people trying to come up with good explanations.
So yeah. I'd rub a lamp and ask for all the people in the world to have more criticism and to be able to tell between irrational ideas and ones providing knowledge. This would develop wonderful creativity all over the world and not only in westernised civilizations. Progress would be made and so many, so many problems would be solved at once.
Ahhh... for a world without religion...

Oct 19 2011: I think each person needs to take responsibility for the world of today. This means each of us need to be more free and at the same time not delegating responsibilities to banks or governments.

Here is a plug from other similar conversations on this site:
I am starting a project that is a combination of direct democracy and a friend2friend currency.

The goals of the new value system:
    * retain the good parts of the invention named money
    * the value in the new system has to be unlimited, but it also has to retain value
    * the new system has to be inclusive, it has to let anybody to participate
    * the new transactions will always be traceable, thus easing crime and abuse detection
    * the value in new system has to be immune to stealing
    * the new system has to prevent unnecessary global financial turbulences
    * the new system has to increase personal freedom of participants
    * the new system has to reduce systematic abuse by enforcing direct and personal responsibility

Oct 19 2011: I agree with the things you say and it would take a good step...
I'm not sure if the word is "chance" or "change"....when you ask that question...
But if it were "to change...

    1. Stop polluting the earth
    2. Our new generation to be more determined and patient.
    3. To make them adaptable life long leaners and not just think in a one perspective point of view.

However, I would have to say a lot of these things including yours and mine, needs to start with oneself. If you want the world to be aware, you start being more aware and acting, then telling others. If I wnated to stop polluting the earth, it starts with me recycling, me being eco friendly to save the earth before I tell people. It is possible to change the world but a lot of people can't begin and don't realize that it begins with themsevles...One, does make a difference.

If your word was actually "chance" (because you say change later) then maybe this answer is not suitable :/
