I believe the right to an education is a basic human right..what can we do to make that a reality?

Governor Brown just signed the Dream Act and that propelled me to think about how accessible education is in United States and around the world. Education shouldn't be something that only the privileged can afford. What can we do to give every child an opportunity to improve their lives through education?

  • Oct 15 2011: Great responses everyone! Sorry I don't have the time to respond to everyone but I read everyone's comments and thought they are all insightful! It was just an idealistic thought I had and I understand it is very hard for the world to politically and economically change to make this a reality, which is why I asked this question. Even thought education may not be a basic human right, I believe it is important for our society to have the mobility between social statuses and education is one of the best ways to do that.

Is education a right? Is it a Basic human right? It is important!! BUT at what cost?
Sooo, where you are from, your country, is ready to take on education, able to foot the bill? AT what cost to the rest of the world? Please remember, someone has to pay the tab. Take Care and hold your ideas, close to your heart!! With Respect To Ya! :) ( oops, it is the parents or the parent)
