How can the people most effectively use the information we are getting about how power is used in our names?

Given that corporate wealth controls the mainstream media, the government, energy sources, seeds, water and medicine - what avenues does that leave open for making the essential changes that are needed to help people and the planet?

We see now that millions of people taking to the streets has no impact on economic ecological and foreign policies, nor do electing new leaders, letters, petitions, speeches, conferences, etc.

How can we the people be effective: like end wars, torture, climate destruction, bailouts to billionaires, etc?

Sep 29 2011: I'm building a site for this and other problems: Planet Victory - One Site to Save the World

Please send me an email at info@planetvictory.com if you'd like to be notified when our 1st Kickstarter goes up.

Also, check out www.americanselect.org. It's a great example of innovation working to trump establishment.

    In answer to your questions:

    1) ... what avenues... help people and the planet?

We the people will have no effect if not through competition for our survival and cultivation. Corporate dealing is the fairest and easiest deal any activist is going to find on this planet, and those who really want to change the world are best served by becoming social entrepreneurs and then cultivating more of the same.

If business controls the world, do business. But to be the change you seek, act accordingly in your business practices. I recommend contemplation of the Buddha's teachings on Right Livelihood. Become a billionaire, but only so that you can make massive change for the better.

The problem is not that business drives policy in a contained region (Earth), but that there are too few businesses.

We can have a healthy world market place, with millions of Elon Musk's and Warren Buffets reciprocating to the poorest citizens through philanthropy and policy influence (let's be real); or we can have a global fascist state that will REQUIRE atrocities just to stay functional, as tyranny always does.

In either case, national borders become less important, but in only one case it that a good thing.

    2) How can we the people be effective...?

While you scheme on how to save the world, inform everyone about the issues where you have attained real certainty. Get people asking questions, examining their beliefs, waking up. Consider that people may not be innately effective; that the majority of people are at least partially backwards, duel, ignorant, cruel and/or self-destructive. Develop tools to utilize the masses that are not bad karma. see PlanetVictory.com

Sep 26 2011: You want a way to awake the masses to a conspiracy? Why not start with indisputable proof.

But frankly I don't think it matters anyways. Why not drop the conspiracy angle all together? Give people an option BETTER then what they currently have, and they will take it. All the promotion of conspiracies does, is attempt to tell people that it's worse then they believe. People don't want worse, they want better.
  • Sep 26 2011: Thanks for your response. Yes, most people don't know the full story, even those of us who delve deep, and have the courage to see the truth. I'm not sure if dwelling on conspiracies, e.g. Who really killed Paul Wellstone, King, the Kennedy's; who stole what elections with rigged voting machines, who knew what and when re 9-11, etc. is our most fruitful direction.

The bigger truth is that all these events are rigged and manipulated to control people through fear, to control the resources, to entrench empire.

And my question remains: for those of us - activists like myself - who know where the power lies, what is left for us to do?

We have failed to awaken masses of people to demand and end to fossil fuels, fraudulent wars, etc. People are not showing up at protests anymore (except for few hundred stalwarts who keep coming out). People are scared about their financial circumstances. They have seen that nothing is working.

Given the corporatocracy that's running the show, my thoughts turn to tax resistance, general strikes, boycotting financial institutions, refusal to keep paying mortgages, student loans en masse, etc. But how to awaken the masses?????

Sep 26 2011: The vast majority of people really don't know how the world works, what the hidden centers of power are and who wields that power, even though the necessary information is out there in books and on the web. Ask any group if the Federal Reserve System is a Federal program answerable to Congress and 90% of them will say "Of course it is". Wrong! It is privately owned by an alliance of private banks many of them in Europe. These are the people who print our money and control prime interest rates which is the lever which can move the financial world.

We need to start digging into conspiracy topics. A lot of conspiracy is bunk, but a lot of it isn't. Start with Jessie Ventura and Alex Jones and go from there. It's a wild and wooly zone of inquiry filled with jaw dropping revelations. We need to do our homework. Self governance via democracy is a serious damned responsibility and we need to be up to the task. People need to stop wasting time with entertainment and get busy learning "where the monkey sleeps"
