Imagine if there was no pop culture.
The world seems to be more obsessed with celebrities than real world issues. What if there was only traditional culture of countries and no popular culture. Imagine it... where would we be without pop culture idols? In a better or worse place?

Being Canadian I see a variety of traditional art forms all around me. Though they are with merit, interesting and enjoyable let's not forget that art is supposed to reflect current culture. What we truly need are artists topping the charts who are saying something worthwhile.

And seeing as this particular scribe is "anon-ymous," I figure it is a good opportunity to point it out without embarrassing anyone.
Definitely is definitely spelled d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y. Or to put it another way: Definitely is definitely not spelled d-e-f-i-n-a-t-e-l-y.
Pass it on.

It's a joke ... based in reality ... but a joke
Seriously, I chose to correct a common spelling mistake with you because - well I like words to be spelled correctly* - and you are "anonymous" and, as such, you are personally shielded from embarrassment.
I apologize if the humour was not evident.
Tim, from time to time, I teach English as a second language; you're right: English is a pretty stupid language. How many ways are there to pronounce "ough?" Through, enough, bough, dough, thought, etc, etc.
* I am a terrible speller; I'm dyslexic. Without spellcheck, I would be lost. BTW my spellcheck does catch definately.
