Is it really possible to convert Sound Energy to Electricity for our conventional uses?
This idea of converting Sound energy from the everyday surroundings into Electrical energy had been in my mind since I studied the conservation law in my school age.
Then I have realized in the recent past, that human beings must essentially develop some alternate renewable sources to sustain their existence. So, my age old idea of converting the sound into electrical form flashed my mind.
After making some decent studies in the internet, I still couldn't find a strong statement which could say that sound can be converted into electricity for lighting a bulb !! I know that sound is generally converted into electrical impulses from various methods in the microphone and then it is reconverted back into sound from the transducers in the speakers !!
My idea is that why cant we amplify the signal from the sound as it is done by various electronic circuits using rechargeable batteries and store the part of it in the storage batteries for using it as a dc source !!
Even though i think this method is a bit inefficient, several methods can be employed to make it much efficient like concentrating the sound from the surroundings onto a single point as we do in capturing the solar energy..and etc.
I think this type of energy generation doesn't cost much and it is a once-it-for- all investment. This set-up can be deployed where there is a lot of noise..for example railway stations, airports and even the discos !! I am holding a few ideas how it can happen but still i doubt its practical use!!
i would appreciate any kind of ideas, suggestions, opinions and comments from you guys...
