Can I use cob to build community building in the former republic of Georgia, perhaps somewhere like Kazbegi?
I want to find a cheap and sustainable way of building a community and children's field studies centre in the former Republic of Georgia. I love the idea of using cob, but I wonder whether its the best idea for the environment I am considering. I am looking to build near Kazbegi, its warm from Spring to Autumn, but thick with snow and down to minus numbers in the winter. I have heard both good and bad about cob building, but I wonder if its going to be my best option, or if there is another alternative? Or should I consider renovating one of the old, abandoned soviet buildings? Has anyone else built a community or field studies centre in another country, and what issues did they face, how did they deal with it?
