Wearable Smart House... Life goes mobile...

In essence I am talking about an orgy of known and emergent technologies for purposes of empowering and unplugging the masses by way of clothing that can become our permanent portable homes and shelters with all the comforts and capabilities of a smart house, and so much more. Imagine a suite or dress that can in a instant change its color, shape, texture, and or rigidity by way of user interface and/or can do so automatically when external stimuli meets preset customizable perimeters and in doing so only scratches the surface of it's capabilities. This means one outfit for all occasions. A second skin of sorts and like our skin should be able to interact and communicate with our bodies. In some cases it would enhance our bodies natural abilities much like x-bionics approach to maximizing the potential of perspiration to more effectively cool the the body and reduce energy requirements for doing so virtually eliminating heat related illness while still providing warmth from the cold. In others provide capabilities well beyond that of the average human which are limited only by imagination and the current emergent tech available. Then of course there is the networked side of things which can pull enormous amounts or raw data from our environments by way of sensors and transmitters to be used on the fly or to be reviewed and/or used later by either the wearer or the network itself. Imagine the amount of information that even a small percentage of the population wearing these suits could compile overtime. I believe that we already have the technology to create a simplistic version of the suit that would render it's wearer virtually indestructibly at least by the natural world and allow them to comfortable interact with their environment as well as paint it with valuable information enhancing the experience.

Aug 4 2011: seeing the title, i thought you are mocking buzzwords
    • Aug 4 2011: In a way yes, however the concept is very real. I may have to retitle and repost it focusing more on the tech that already exists in order to peak more interest.

Aug 4 2011: Skylar, sounds like a good DARPA project to me. Have you looked into similar projects?
    • Aug 4 2011: I will definitely look into it. Thank you very much for your input.
