Walk ways in the sky

I got the idea from the Petronas Twin Towers and from another idea to buld parks on top of buildings. Basicly the idea is to conect buildings at certain points so that elevators do not use as much energy going all the way down to the bottom level then crossing to a different building near by.

Jul 7 2011: Nice idea. You could think of buildings that interconnect at the top, whereas the base would be smaller, so that you can grow trees on the ground-level, in between the base structures, to have some green.

Thomas Heatherwick presented that type of building here at TED. Check (minute 14 onwards): http://www.ted.com/talks/thomas_heatherwick.html

    Jul 6 2011: A really good idea!
I think the important issue should be who pay for the project.

Jul 6 2011: Since there are programs to reduce CO2 emissions and we still use mostly fossil fuels for electricity it could be a split 50% of the cost from government. 25% from each of the buildings connected by each section since they would be saving energy in the long run along with attracting more business from being more readily available. The one thing that puts the biggest dent in it is weather it would be a fire hazard or if it would act as a benefit in fire emergencies
