Is intelligence in general really just our ability to see from different perspectives?

My proposed definition:
Intelligence - The ability for one to adopt different perspectives and consciously enter unique states of mind that would optimize performance for specific situations.

Jul 2 2011: No, it's our ability to tell who is right, and who is wrong.
That said, I do very much like your definition of intelligence being a resource that allows one to optimise personal performance in any situation.
  • Jul 1 2011: My favorite definition: the ability to efficiently and effectively process, acquire, and reciprocate to stimuli.
