regulate electronic cigarettes

i just took up smoking again. if the level of nicotine in each inhaled 'drag' from my e-cigarette was regular, i probably wouldn't have taken up smoking. i propose regulating the e-cigarette industry in australia and world-wide by lobbying the pharmaceutical industry to lobby the government into making e-cigarettes legal.

it could be said that the amount of health issues caused by cigarettes outweighs the cost of taxes on cigarettes. i believe that by simply having one drug in the equation, instead of several chemicals, would reduce the amount of health issues dramatically.

if the e-cigarette industry were regulated by a pharmaceutical company, the amount of nicotine in each drag would be regular. perhaps a pharmaceutical company could gamble on buying out philip-morris and obtaining the nicotine that way?

what other advantages are there for having a smoke-less world?

is this true specific to one region or is this a prevalent thing? if it is keeping cigarettes legal is pretty nonsensical, especially with an alternative like e-cigarettes.

Jun 22 2011: even if considering that it costs more to deal with cancer and other health issues that affect the body, with the impact of health issues regarding smoking-related illnesses, money is nothing compared to a clean bill of health - in my opinion.

nicotine alone still causes damage and other health issues - but i would assume causes less damage than the carcinogens that are contained in cigarettes.

what is stopping cigarettes from becoming completely illegal is the tobacco companies have a lot of influence over government. what i propose is that the government lobbies the pharmaceutical companies to buy out the major tobacco companies, and use the existing tobacco farms to extract nicotine.
