What is scientology?

Of course, I have read the Wikipedia on it but I would like to know what you guys think of it and express what you think it is ect., etc.

    Jun 18 2011: I think it's a social club, masked in the idea of a religion written by a science fiction author. A lot of people like sci-fi, and would like a world that is actually based upon science fiction lore. The devout followers of Scientology have a different reality than most who follow a one-God belief system. It is a religion, just different. Not for me, though.
