peer-to-peer public botnet
there is in existance illegal botnets for purposes such as DDoS attacks. i propose a seti@home type of botnet, that is open to the public to participate in, to use as a supercomputer to speed up tasks that require processing power.
similar to the bit torrent protocol, this would allow everyday users to select any program from any operating system to upload what to process (data) and how to process it (script.)
i suggest not to allow the protocol to send and retrieve data in the scripts, but instead restrict the usage of the scripts to virtual cpu processing, to help prevent illegal mis-use.
like the bit torrent protocol where popular files are able to be downloaded faster, the peer-to-peer public botnet (p2ppbn) would allow commonly processed outputs to be stored in the hive, making processing popular combinations of scripts and data irrelevant saving much of the hive's overall cpu demand.
each peer would be able to set customisable limits on how high the percentage or how many of their cpu(s) would be in use, with a minimum mhz/ghz/cycles requirement.
