Donating computing power of personal devises for favorite research or university.
With all the devises currently connected to the internet there is an immense amount of computing power sitting at idle. What I am purposing is to create a downloadable program that grants access to a certain organization to utilize our personal devices idle computing. It is possible to allow a program to run calculations on a computer that is connected via the internet, so why not allow research groups ability to gain mass amounts of computing power by way of donations from people concerning their personal devises. Say 2500 chose to donate 1% of their cumulative computing power, that would add up. The technical side I am wholly unfamiliar with so I am just figuring that it would be possible to link these devises to create a cloud based super computer.
So an app to allow a certain percentage of usage at all times and a schedule to set personal idle times that the allowable usage can increase.
On a business level there is a ton of computing power (resource) sitting at idle when the offices are closed.
