Plastic can be economically converted to high quality fuels.

Only the best plastic gets recycled, the rest of it goes to landfills. One company is able to convert 20metric tonnes of plastic per day into 109bbls of diesel for a cost of about $10 per barrel. The current model of business would be to replicate these $200-500K processors with partner companies that produce industrial plastic waste, or to assemble processors at recycling facilities to deal with post-consumer waste. I don't have time to add much here now. I have nominated the CEO of this company to give a TED talk.
