When working, would you be willing to exercise and work at the same time if there were no impact on work productivity only burned calories?

During your busiest times of the year you may not have the motivation to workout before or after work or school. My idea is to increase work productivity by giving people the option to exercise while working. All you need to do is sit down on your chair and start pedaling while you work at your desk with your computer. Also if you have children that can't quite sit still and all they need to do is keep moving to focus, as a teacher, would this be helpful?
I'd like feed back on the possibility of integrating the workout room into the workplace, if it didn't make noise. There are some downsides to this, like sweating in your business cloths, focusing to hard on pedaling and less on your work ext. I want feedback on the pros and cons of whether you as a worker and manager would feel about the integration.
The last aspect of the experiment is the psychological impact it will have on workers. What would those who don't like the idea or can't feel: guilt, depression, bullying ext. And the positive impact: energy, self fulfillment, promotions.

May 31 2011: I agree. Adding an alternator to the bike, so people could make energy for their community and save money for the company. Each bike would produce about 300watts of energy per bike and hour. To put that in perspective for how much energy could possibly be generated. with 3334 bikes in use (could be more than one business or a large call center) if it were possible to have a continuous rotation of people at the community power desk for 12hrs a day for 365 days a year people would produce 1mgw a day = about $6000 a day and $2,190,000 a year for the company. The price of energy varies depending on your geographical location.

May 30 2011: I would love to live in a world where health was a primary focus, and that food wasn't transfatty/full of sugar and where you could exercise while working.

I would support this idea, though it would have to be integrated with showers/different clothing and an innovative way of doing this, as otherwise it would go against corporate hygiene policies and such.

Good idea though! work on it :)

May 31 2011: $6000 a day for a lage company may change their minds about the policy. Also, companies of that size should have showers in their workout facility that gives them a huge tax or insurance break. If health isn't integrated into corporate life I don't think we will ever value exercise, other than those who have become addicted to endorphins.
  • May 30 2011: I wish it was that simple to multitask and balance and plan life but realistcly that is imposible for other people because of leck of time we would rather spend the little time we have in enjoying ourselves.

May 30 2011: I think that would be a wonderful idea. To add to it why don't we put a alternator on the bike that captures the kinetic energy?

May 29 2011: Someone should create/market a cycle bike (like what people work out on) and a work desk. That way you can petal while you work, even if it is slow pedaling it would be very effective to cut calories.
