Coolest technology demoed at a TED event?

There have been some pretty incredible technologies demoed at TED and TEDx events. What has been the most mind-blowing technology you have seen through TED?

Feb 14 2011: A difficult question to, but I think I'll choose everything Juan Enriquez mentions in his talk about new science that will change us as a species (http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/juan_enriquez_shares_mindboggling_new_science.html) as my answer, although the technologies were not demoed on stage.
This was the first TED talk I ever watched and I can only agree that these new methods of engineering cells, tissues and robots will bring us "the ultimate reboot" as Mr. Enriquez puts it.
Especially the thought of spraying stem cells onto premade carthilages and watch them transfom into a fully functioning organ is mind-blowing.

If only actually demoed tech is to be considered I think I would choose the SixthSense as it has great potential for the coming years to revolutionize the way we interact with our environment. Coming in second would be Hans Rosling's Gapminder as it has been of great help for me in presentations and projects when it came down to visualizing data.

Feb 13 2011: All the related talks are about ITC related gadgets and I think this is a too narrow field.

My view is that these gadgets -- yes, they are "incredible technologies" today -- may not have a significant immediate impact on large number of people, so they will not make a difference on a global scale.

I think that "Michael Pritchard's water filter turns filthy water drinkable" is one of the most "mind-blowing" technology presented at TED. And there are many others like this, non-IT gadgets presented at TED. Rolling water bottles, flowers detecting land mines, etc.

And on an even bigger scale I think that the technologies used by scientist to detect and find exoplanets or super-massive black holes are also mind-blowing.
