are the women lower than the men?

the women represent half of the population, one could thus expect that they express of number for an equality in right (wages, linguistics, trades, sexuality) but it is not the case.
Passivity: this word all the time returns that it is for the sex, to be essential and develop ideas in a conversation or to express for its rights.

"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know each other (not that you may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)." holy quran 49:13

Jun 4 2011: i don't think there will ever be a reversion back to old fashioned roles, thats impossible to even imagine,in the work place depending on what it is i've never seen gender as a problem.though i have noticed a strange group dynamic on the social networks.Female personas that have a large group of male followers,i get the strangest feeling of the old 18th century suitor system?

May 29 2011: Refrain from this men Vs women conversations !!
It doesn't make any difference to anybody whether any men is lower than women and vice-versa.

May 28 2011: Women vs men, again?..? This is a redundant way to go forward in this particular discussion. As is clinging so indignantly to past grievances, real or imagined.

You cast your 'informed' gaze on the past (and a very different place and time it was) and judge against a new set of attitudes. Attitudes that were as alien then as theirs are today.

Get over the past and think about now. It's not about women and men, it's about individuals. We're all different.

          Jun 5 2011: I couldn't disagree more.

I've heard similar sentiments before and they probably had some relevance in the days when it was necessary to foster group-pride.

The idea that your future is intimately linked with 'where you're from' is the very definition of moving in a rut.

As for not being able change the direction of the train - it's pretty depressing to think that we are at the mercy of our forebears' attitudes and actions.

To mis-quote Bob Marley for my own purposes "In this great future, you can forget your past".

PS. When you run with the herd, you have to follow the rules..
  • May 28 2011: human is made of two main part
    1- soul
    2- body

the soul is not material and has not gender and is the same in man and woman.
the soul growth spiritually and gain good or evil attributes.

but body of man and woman are not the same and have differences genetically and naturally.
for example mans have more body power or woman have more commiseration ; grith ; pathos.
this make some natural differences in roles the body of man or woman is suited.
this not mean lower or higher.
this is a natural difference that makes some natural advantages of disadvantages for man or woman in society.
but totally man and woman are equal in value.
but not equal in body and physical/personality abilities.
    • May 28 2011: you cannot prove that there is a soul.
To believe is too easy, to reason is much less. one could as accept all the myths, religions and other beliefs supernatural (many naive people tend to think as there are only 3 religions: monotheisms. An ignorance and a claim which tires).
unless you would not be in a sect : read a little sociologie and you will see that :
      1) liberty is an illusion, therefore
      2) we are under influence, that is outside (environment) or interior (body) _even the distinction environment/body is not valid.
But of course, one can always believe the insane ones and other mentally ills, avoid reflecting, avoid thinking of his conditionings, his parents, etc.

May 28 2011: hmm reminds me of what Michael Douglas said in the last part of the "Disclosure Movie" about women in power.

true that in nature women are more agressive given the opportunity they can really excel at work. but thats it, it would be hard for them to find someone that can take care of them. unless "HE's" her boss?

May 28 2011: I can't answer because I do not know the situation of all women. Neither do I know the situation of all men.

I am loathe to allocate particular characteristics to these two groups en masse for fear of perpetuating stereotypes..

May 28 2011: hmm... maybe majority of men today forget to be gentlemen. no wonder women today points fingers, complains for this and that... just an opinion.

anyway freedom can be abused...if applied to women...they enjoy it first then afterwards...you get the point...

"It takes two to tango", "theres always two sides of the story"...

May 27 2011: Are they? yes. Should they be? No. Once we got beyond a basic anilmal need several thousand years ago it bcame about men's insecurity and the need to wave his power over all and sundy.

May 27 2011: Men and Women each play a unique role, no one is higher or lower. We all play our own roles in life and that's what makes life so exciting and genuine. That being said, both genders need to properly understand their roles and not jump into "gender wars" or ridiculous gender politics just to prove something. If sexism wasn't around, none of this would have happened. Regardless, I see progress in this field and I support gender respect and equality fully.

May 27 2011: Women rights doesn't mean never confront women, even if they are wrong about something. I see a lot of women talking about their rights and then doing whatever they like. That isn't women rights, that's being irresponsible and stupid. Those kind of women give all the others a bad name and men that confront them aren't automatically sexist. Let's not jump from one extreme to another.
