Can a company thrive with multiple visionary leaders?

Is it feasible for a young company to grow and thrive with multiple visionaries in the lead? Can inspiration be achieved with a sea of vision at the top? Can anyone give a brief description of an experience in which this has resulted in a negative outcome?

    May 24 2011: Vision can and should come from many with in organisation but have to agreed to be crystilized into one then direction should come from one thats the way it is working so far due the sake of management principle "unity of direction" & 'Segregation of Duty" otherwise executors get confused.

    Bill Gates & Paul Allen of tried it one being Visionary another being Operating leader but couldn't work together long now both are claiming to be the main visionary............thats the example
