What kind of power can a film have?

Can a film help to make the world a better place and change peoples attiudes? What should such films contain?

    May 29 2011: I think that movies plays a great role in character building...But as far as attitude is concerned,i don't think that movies much effect it,although it may bound people to think over for sometime.
