What suggestions do you have or tools do you utilize to reclaim your well-being and create a healthier, happier world?

The idea of health and fitness is wildly popular these days, but actually becoming a truly healthy person can be mighty tough to pull off.

We are living in a society that is wired up to make us sick, overweight, depressed and stressed out.

In fact, choosing to be healthy in an unhealthy society like ours, is a revolutionary act.

We are seeking fellow healthy revolutionaries willing to share their ideas in order to create a movement intent on changing this mixed-up reality.

  • May 12 2011: These are some of the the things that keep me in balance:
    - let go of all opinions about yourself, other people, the things they do.. your opinions are just that - opinions. better to make your life about understanding and improving *how* you perceive things rather than what your judgements are.
    - let go of your opinions about what is Right and what is Wrong in this world and focus instead on how you can act from a place of compassion.
    - do exercises like yoga and qi gong that make you *feel* more rather than think, and let your heart come into balance with my mind
    - ground yourself, make connecting with nature a regular an important ritual and way of life
    - meditate. The Tibetan or Chinese versions of the Inner Smile Meditation are very effective, and it has also been applied most successfully in clinic situations for thousands of people of differing conditions. the more you meditate, the more your experience of life becomes about pure awareness rather than allowing your perception to be controlled by the minds habit of fixating on its own contents. With more genuine awareness we have more natural empathy and find ourselve in greater harmony with the world around us.
    - visit a practitioner of a modality that has a good understanding of the connection between mind/emotions/body like authetic tai chi or Acuenergetics
    - eat seasonal foods, cook at home and eat fresh as much as possible, eat when hungry and don't fill yourself up. eat enough to take away your hunger and that is all.. Eat according to your circadian rhythms - "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper"
    - Love. Make your life about loving yourself and those around you.

    Apr 29 2011: The things that have keep me balance is the concepts of Stephen Covey. Especially, "put first thing first". Every times I when apart from those guidelines I paid for it,.8)

    Apr 29 2011: Cut loose every now and then Saturnalia style. Get back in touch with the more primitive side of ourselves that modern society doesn't leave much space for.
