How can Organ Donation among minorities be increased?

Michelle Dunson, or DhammaGirl as she is known on Twitter, describes herself thus: a New York based female Buddhist who is tickled by the ups/downs of life, kidney donor and reiki empath. I had the pleasure of interviewing her about her decision to become a living organ donor, the hurdles communities of color face and the role social media, specifically Twitter, can play in advancing the cause of organ donation.

The question our conversation raises is, what can be done to reach out for living donors and after death donations. Any thoughts? http://www.tweeting4change.com/1/post/2014/03/tweeting-for-change-living-organ-donor-how-one-woman-gave-her-mom-the-gift-of-life-by-giving-a-stranger-her-kidney.html

And it seems you would've been better off with better primary, secondary and higher education so as not to be so know it all reactionary to the perspectives of others. Since only.your emotions and experiences matter the rest of humanity..oh wait they're not human like you, is lost on you.

    • Mar 7 2014: Thanks for the comment but if you read my blog you'd know the fears aren't based on superstition but fact. I don't think insulting people's legitimate fears, based on historical reality will help. Education of a sort is needed but to imply everyone is ignorant is likely why they stay away, no respect.
      • Mar 7 2014: Okay, then, ignorance and superstition, particularly superstition about "government" and that old "white devil".
