If you could master one skill overnight, what would it be?

Many of us have a long list of skills we wish to obtain or improve. However, if you could master one skill overnight, what would it be?

      Dec 11 2013: That's cheating Keith.
      • Dec 11 2013: Basically the same answer as if you only had one wish, what would it be? to have a 1,000 more wishes of course. You certainly don't want to run out of wishes....

Dec 12 2013: there'd be some karmic backlash to that wish - like you'd end up eternally wishing for more wishes and create a loop that would potentially destroy existence...:) i've noticed wishes tend to work that way in traditional literature
      • Dec 12 2013: You know the old saying Scott, anything worth doing is worth overdoing. OR
One is to many and a thousand not enough.
      • Dec 12 2013: TY Henry that made me smile but I don't have to cheat, I know the "secret" known also as positive affirmation. I have used it many times to get what I "wish" for. Simply put a word or picture of what you want where you will see it most, mine is the edge on my monitor screen. Then be prepared to get it soon.

Einstein put it this way "Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one"
If you like movies here is a lesson from the Matrix:
Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
        Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no spoon.
        Neo: There is no spoon?
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

Dec 11 2013: That's ingenious Keith, why didn't I think of that!? I've always thought of the more wishes thing.
      • Dec 11 2013: Well Jimmy I don't know how you missed it, it is on page 87 second paragraph in the book of knowledge which I am sure you are familiar with. You know that book that keeps appearing in your dreams which has all the answers to all the questions. There is nothing new Jimmy, everything we know has been know forever. Time is the only thing that gives us the illusion of change.

Dec 12 2013: You are a deeply philosophic my friend, I really like that and I'm looking forward to learning from (and possibly teaching) you.
      • Dec 12 2013: We are all teachers, we are all students
You are a wonderful teacher Jimmy, I have learned many things from you.
When the student is ready, the teacher will appear- Buddha
That book I mentioned has always been available to everyone since the beginning of time. The answers have never changed, only the questions change.

Dec 12 2013: The skill i would master would be persuasion. The attributes of persuasive speech are exceedingly powerful in a sense if you could persuade any audience to your view of any issue or do virtually whatever you want. Any game enthusiast who has played an RPG (role-playing game) knows that speech is a tool to invest in, when you can strike cheap deals, convince enemies to become friends, or moderate arguments between opposing parties. The powers of persuasive speech allows an individual to use words to direct outcomes of situations to their advantage. It's kind of an evil way of looking at it, but that is the definition of persuasion, to control the thoughts of another person and turn them to do something through reasoning or argument.

Dec 11 2013: Is this something you are trying to learn? If not, what's stopping you?
      • Dec 11 2013: I'm always doing this. But mastering either does not happen overnight.

Dec 11 2013: You obviously cannot master a skill overnight. However, the answer to this question should give you some insights on what you should be focusing on in your daily routine.

Maybe the skill isn't something you can devote time to every day. However, if the skill you would master isn't on the list of things you are trying to accomplish right now, you may want to reevaluate things.

The point of this question is simple. If you had no limitations, what skill would you be good at right now? What skill would add the most value to your life?

You may not be able to learn it overnight, but you can learn it.
