Dec 5 2013: Samma, why don't you start by making a list of kinds of adventures you think might be fun but a little scary? You can probably think of better ideas if you pick something that seems like something you would like to do if you could.

Examples might be exploring a vacant castle or a hidden garden or city. Maybe it's going somewhere distant on a boat.

There is a really famous story in which someone wakes up and finds he is a beetle. There is another famous story in which a prince and a poor boy change places to see what it is like There are lots of adventure stories in which people are part of fantastic rescues.

Then think of what could have gotten reluctant Michael into the adventure. A visit from a risk-loving cousin might do it. Alice followed a rabbit and fell into a hole. In Lord of the Rings, Gandalf the Wizard arrives having decided Frodo was the one for a particular adventure, as part of a band of others, and he more or less got swept along. Katliss in the Hunger Games didn't look for an adventure but volunteered to prevent her sister from having to risk her life.

Dec 10 2013: I take issue with it because of the possible trends that it will sprout.

I remember a time when TED was filled with "What's your best story in three words", for those discussions I think that people need to look elsewhere on the web.

Basically I want meaningful stuff here, not worthless mumbo-jumbo.

And I wouldn't have a problem with it if TED Conversations was a place for free speech but since it isn't I strongly feel that this conversation is one of those that should be censored.

          It's just so unfair sometimes...

Dec 5 2013: Michael didn't really like adventure but that day he had no choice. They said they would make him famous because of his voice and his skills. He really believed them and enjoyed the days when he used to make people happy. Then some medias started talking about him and little children doing things that used to get him sick after he read. So many stories, about his bleached skin, about the surgeries he never had. All he wanted was a thin nose. But what he got was a legend.
  • Dec 5 2013: Michael didn't really like adventure but that day he had no choice. He traveled around the world alone. At the beginning of the journey, he used the money that his parents had given to. But later, he had no money and he had to carry on his trip. As a result, he had to word for others to earn his living. During the jobs he did, he experienced a lot. Gradually, he found he was interested in adventure. He liked what he did and he continued his trip.
