What if the highest growth potential nations formed an “African Union”?

Charles Robertson’s talk on “Africa’s next boom” opened my eyes to a whole new Africa. It was very inspiring to hear about the good things happening in the region; things other than corruption, hunger, and poverty. Robertson’s overview of the gains they have made in education, life expectancy, and GDP inspired a correlation with the European Union. Would Africa benefit from the same process of unification?

The benefits may lead to a common language, monetary system, and open trade corridors. Perhaps this networking would expedite and enhance the possible innovations and ideas that could make them a $29 trillion economy even before 2050.
