how do you identify opportunity in times of problem/hardship?

in times of difficulty in life, most at times lies simple opportunity. how should one in times of such moments focus or see the opportunity

Oct 14 2013: Yes, we have a famous Chinese saying:Misfortune might be a Blessing in disguises . Hardship and opportunity are twins.Just be positive , think more and work hard accordingly, you'll find your luck one day~!
  • Oct 13 2013: Focus on the problems to be solved. Opportunity is found in solving problems.
  • Oct 13 2013: Pay attention.
Things arise, present themselves and we either act or we don't.
The reasons why may be upbringing, experience, fear, doubt, or morals, to list a few, but it is not immoral
to survive. Know thyself. and to thy own self be true.

I remember a quote that went like this. (I should preface it to say I don't believe in God but that's okay if you do).
It went like this: God is speaking to you in whatever is happening at the moment.
That's why I said pay attention or learn to be attentive.
I have to let go of how I think opportunity should, would or will look so that I am open to "see" what does
present itself to me, then act upon it.
Will I make mistakes? Certainly but I have to keep going and take all things lightly.
Don't worry, something good will happen.
If it doesn't, don't worry, something bad will happen.
    You are all right anyway.

Luck is being in the right place at the right time.
Being in the right place at the right time requires paying attention to what is happening at the moment.

Good luck. If something I wrote helps, fine. If it doesn't I apologize and wish you well.
You can substitute the "universe" is speaking to you, the situation is speaking to you or whatever might
    be useful to you.

You create your consciousness so you can create anything you want. Your consciousness is time-less, space-less and dimension-less. There are no limits on what you can do, create, achieve and/or be.
