Tweeting for Change: Organizing a social movement around people trying to change the world in 140 characters or less

So we all know the horror stories about the internet but we know much less about the positive, the good. I decided to find out more. So I'm going to tell a different social media story. The story of three people convinced they can change the world, through tweeting.

So I would like input on this and if you like the idea please take a look and let's get this started! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/455857426/tweeting-for-change

Oct 10 2013: i think it's in need of very important category which is philosophy if they want it seriously and good luck for every goodness come from us for us.
  • Oct 4 2013: Yes, well that's a tricky thing. I can't use my current job to raise funds, which makes sense. This is a separate project from my work. But my former University, Marquette, has a student run PR "firm" that is excited to help and will be coming on in the next week to lend what I think will be some critical support.

I would love to do a TED talk about it and the experience. I also have a Twitter page specifically for people "Tweeting for Change" Just recently went up and getting a lot of people who in fact are doing just that.... so it's nice to take the project out to the people who are doing it. https://twitter.com/Tweetng4Change

Oct 4 2013: May I ask you a few questions?

What exactly is it that you are going to do?

You are going to travel and interview the three people that you are following on Twitter, and then interview three of their followers?

    Am I understanding correctly?
    • Oct 4 2013: Well yes that is what you do for a documentary. I would travel to Portugal to Meet Andre, New York for Dhama and Pittsburgh for Kristen. But it's like hi who are you goodbye. It's spending time with them, hearing their stories finding as I said what motivates them, why are they doing what they do. IS this distracting at all from their "other lives" what do their families think. as for the followers it's about what are they getting out of these messages, how have their lives be changed or transformed. It's going behind the key board but this not catfish. People can think it's a good thing or not but there are people who truly want change the "vibe" of the world. Now of course there will be other elements to the documentary but I don't know most docs go somewhere talk to some people and try to answers some questions.

Oct 4 2013: Thanks for answering my questions Shari.

Sounds like it will be lots of fun.
Maybe you could do a TED talk after you're done with the project.

So, your current field of employment doesn't provide the resources for this venture?
It sure would be nice if you could contact a tv network, or magazine to help you get on your way.

        All the best!!
