We should not bomb Libya.

  • Sep 4 2013: I think there's been some confusion with Syria.
Libya's intervention was sealed and done a few years back.

By the way, there is no diplomatic solution in Syria. Assad's regime is fighting for its life, there is nothing that can be done to persuade them of anything. You can't threaten a man with nothing left to loose.

Even if Assad laid his arms to rest tomorrow, there have sprouted so many different militias in Syria, that the moment he's gone, they'll just switch over from fighting Assad to fighting each other for the scraps.
Some of them can be reasoned with, others can not. They range from secular moderates to jihadist extremists--even if you manage to cut a deal with some of them, you'll never get them all. At least, not diplomatically.

Sep 4 2013: I think it's better that America simply stays out of Syria's problems. If Russia is as concerned about Syria as they say they are, then it should be Russia that confronts Syria. As of now, America has too much to deal with in both domestic and foreign affairs to concern itself with another tumultuous Middle Eastern nation.
