Do you think religion has played a positive role in people's personal lives?is it neccessary or not?

They must refer to their wisdom or their beliefs?

    Aug 3 2013: Religion has benefited many people. It gives them security and tradition. It gives them a basis on which to behave towards other people.

    And no. Religion is not necessary. That from personal experience.

        Aug 3 2013: You want me to assign right and wrong to tradition? I am just not that silly. I only assign right and wrong to my own behavior because I have my own morals. I do not hold the moral standard for the rest of the world.

        I do not understand the red line reference.
      • Aug 4 2013: Traditions are neither right nor wrong, they are a connection to your cultures history. Some traditions loose their meaning over time and are slowly dropped. For example, no one remembers what the Yule log was for at Christmas. I have always thought Ash Wednesday was for planting certain types of trees and I went to Church one year during palm Sunday and some guy slapped me with a plant and threw water on me. Boy, there was almost trouble then... but I digress
