If you could do it all over again, what would you do differently?

If you had the chance to do things differently what would you do and why?

    • Apr 12 2011: Wow! I didn't respond to the question earlier because I figured TED doesn't give us enough space to list all the things I would have done differently!

I am also happy with who I am, but on the way here I made a zillion mistakes and poor choices and things I regret, and would certainly not make the same ones if I travelled the path again. And oh Lord, all those girls I was too shy to talk to....

        • Apr 12 2011: Kathy: I totally agree with what you say. But Lee's question was "if you had the chance to do things differently..." We don't, of course, so I live with whatever I have become. But if I DID have the chance to do things differently, it would be a very different story.

Apr 16 2011: I would have done everything I have done, but I would focus on my financial future from am early age. I always thought that to do the things I have done was to sacrifice financial security, I was wrong.

Apr 16 2011: Ha! I would not have started a war against male chauvinism in the philosophy department until AFTER I passed my comprehensive exams :-D (n.b., If I had changed anything, I might feel differently.)
  • Apr 13 2011: I would have joined the military and skipped the really expensive privet college. :)

Apr 13 2011: I would not change anything except where I have hurt people including myself.. I was handed a lemon and I finally learned to make lemonade

Apr 12 2011: Unless I had the wisdom of age (which is not to say I'm all that wise even yet), I would not take the chance. If I did, I would become a doctor of something, like mushrooms . . . or springtime buds . . . or brain research. Why? Because I would like to feel confident in my knowledge and ability to pass it on.
