Where can I find more information, e. g. books, on how to use his techniques with children?

He proposes that in the end of the talk. And gives some examples, but I would love much more information on how to put this into practice.

Jul 1 2013: Did you watch the TED talk that Helge Kay posted at the top?

It is very very interesting......and many parallels between training a dog, and educating a child.

The speaker even says we could train our husband using this system. LOL
I will put it to the test!!!
      • Jul 1 2013: lol,of course,I did watch it in detail.LoL,couldn't agree with you, when i finished the watching,I said to myself:yup, amazing the guy Helge Kay shared with us:).Obviously Dear Mary M.Let's train our husband in this way:),as well as to the children too.

    Jul 1 2013: Hi Helge,

Really great talk. I had not seen it before.

From listening to Mr. Dunbar, I recognized wonderful teaching techniques I have used in the classroom with small children. Also, parenting techniques I use with my own children.

The one central technique I can put a name to is..........Positive reinforcement........which is "catch them doing good!"

Here is a link to a book on this technique:

You can put "positive reinforcement" in the search criteria on google, or on any site that sells books, and get more book titles, or read about the technique on-line........usually a list comes up for both human application, and pet application. Children, like dogs, like to be caught doing the right thing!

I will admit that when I first read your question I thought, oh, he is kidding.....but after I listened to the talk, I realized you were very serious.

    Good question.
I am a teacher, if you have any questions for me feel free to ask.

Jul 24 2013: Now I found the right keywords to search for book: "positive reinforcement". Good results at amazon.com when restricting the results to the category "parenting": http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n_2?rh=n%3A11401%2Ck%3Apositive+reinforcement&keywords=positive+reinforcement&ie=UTF8&qid=1374692203&rnid=2941120011
