Formulating & interpreting known theories holistically & interpolating all fields of knowledge by studying history of Science & Philosophy.

Theories of science, commerce, economics, laws & its interpretations have arisen from their roots in western philosophy. We will explore the connections between them by studying the relations between theories over the millennia & understand the concepts the authors of the theories had in mind & how the concepts transformed to what they are now .
The idea developed independently by a colleague & me, when put into words seemed to encompass a concept outlined by Thomas Kuhn in ‘‘The Structure of Scientific Revolutions’’. It posited that theories are not just accumulated but are sometimes broken down & assimilated overtime creating significant modern explanations of our world. We wish to put it in action.
We will begin with Aristotle & see how each philosophy is interrelated & reach modern times. Once we see the accumulations, dissociations & assimilations of theories, we can see how we arrived to the theories of the present & see what stage of development are they in.
Then Gaps bridging various fields can be filled by interpolating the close fields.
We can estimate the pace at which modern science is progressing by empirically noting the no of paradigm shifts per century & see the rate of increase of paradigm shifts to see the rate at which we are going now.
We can notice the environment of specific fields & check if it is about to be merged, be extinct or going to go through just more accumulation of facts or a revolutionary change, by comparing it with similar kinds of environments that existed before.
We will know which modern hypothesis & interpretations have to be discarded as some will indicate signs of a incompatibility with the flow of ideas & many interpretations of various fields showing signs of being premature or primitive.
We will be able to interpret the world through the eyes of all scientific disciplines, throw out redundancies in theories & resolve paradoxes
Some theories will be firmly established and Ethics will be restructured to be naturalistic.

May 19 2013: It sounds like a fun history of science project! I am sure you will find many such narratives in that literature, with different scholars having constructed different narratives through the texts.
    • May 20 2013: I don't intend on delivering any kind of narrative. Thomas kuhn is one example of historian of science whose work i am reading right now. But what historians of science have done is just complied information about the life, influences and details of scientists and very strictly restricted studies to specific fields, they never applied it on their current known theories after that. I have a very different approach-- consider this no historian has ever mentioned politics and biology in the same journal yet we see that if Darwinism led to Marx's conception of Communist Manifesto then there are more political ideologies deriving bits n pieces from Biology, ontology, etc. If such a project had been implemented, we would already have a holistic view where the concept of Quantum Mechanical Interactions is quite similar in its concept to the way neural networks in Brain operate, but we have barely begun to consider such concepts in biology. Ethics once resonated with the metaphysics of its time then why isn't it doing the same now? We understand concepts individually but its useless when we talk about things like free will which depend on biology(Brain), Physics,(Reality) and we aren' t able to consider both at the same time and conclude something just as definitive about free will as we do individually of these subjects. I think we can change that by this undertaking.

May 20 2013: I am surprised that there have not been such obvious interdisciplinary narratives but hope you will look for and find what is there as you examine work for your project.
        • May 21 2013: If there is one, we still have the work to understand the current theories in the light of this narrative but I looked for such narratives for hours on the net and didn't find any. Could you refer me to one? One that contains all connections of any and every field from which a current fields have derived ideas from.
