Can someone elaborate on the ways e-waste like mobiles, computers, printers, scanners, circuits etc be recycled?

E-waste is growing by the day and we need to activate ourselves for handling this menace... if you could elaborate on which agencies are currently handling this in North India, or if you could contribute some know-how on how to recycle these things...Wud be a great!!!!

May 20 2013: There are many poisons in discarded computers. And unless handled properly, the materials recovered are deadly to those who do the smelting and recovery.

As for me, I am still trying to find out what happens to the stuff I put into the recycle bin on my computer. I mean, how does THAT get recycled? Where does it go? And who buys it?
