The importance of having role models.

I know, for a fact, I am the person that I am today due to the influence of people, whom I had admired and emulated. They made me who I am today. My morals, character, philosophy, religion have all been influence in one way or another by these people.

I believe that it is extremely important for anyone to have at least one role model. I had multiple throughout my years growing up and continue to look up to people.

Please share your thoughts on the matter.

    Apr 6 2011: i think kids should be asked not only who they think there role models are, but why they picked them and what they want to see in a role model.

      Apr 6 2011: What they need to understand is that a good role model does not have to be someone who is famous, powerful, rich et cetera.

    Apr 5 2011: I agree with importance of having role models. I never had my father as a good role model so instead I depended on uncles and other family friends. My teachers also helped me to utilize my natural skills and curiosity in science and technology.

    I think role models can help kids to explore the world and learn about what good they are at.
