You could use tube lighting to route sufficient light for growing vegetables to just about any where in any building. couple this with solar

I'm pretty sure that if the light tubes were doubled into a room equipped with solar panels could better charge a battery bank that could power night time lighting, better air circulation, and heaters in the growing room.

    Apr 16 2013: If you haven't already done so, type-in "tube lighting" on Bing and you will find a storehouse of application information. I wonder if the transmission process the photons experience as they traverse the tube renders them unsuitable to excite a photovoltaic cell?
