What do you think about your hands?

Well, today I was thinking a lot about my hands. I think they have a huge importance on everything I do. Don't you? So, what would the world be like without the big artists hands? Beethoven, Van Gogh, Michelangelo... I just would love to know your opinion.

Apr 13 2013: I think they are wonderful gifts of life to me. Since they are not needed to help me move, they are free to use for wonderful things, making paper boats being one of such things ! :)

Gabriela, loved the question, it sounds like you smoked something fun.
if we want to be really technical, without hand I dought if our ancestors could harness the power of fire, coock food, and eveolve to be the creative creatures we are today.

          Relax, you'll live longer.
  • Apr 13 2013: Hands are very revealing about a person and I can tell about the work, self esteem, honesty, age and generosity by the look and by gesture.
  • Apr 12 2013: Hello . . .

My hands are the helping tools of my own life and to others. They help me do lots of things and through them I may transfer goodwill, happiness, cheerfulness, encouragement, and motivation.

    Apr 11 2013: Hi Gabriela,
Interesting question, and I've been very aware of my hands lately, because as I age, arthritis is moving in to influence the use of the hands. I am aware that it changes how the hands function.....not as strong, and painful at times. I perceive it to be another adjustment to be made and accepted:>)

      Apr 11 2013: Hi Colleen,
Thanks for your comment! I loved to know about your opinion and I really hope you do well. I think, like you said, that there is another adjustment for everything in life.
  • Apr 11 2013: Being an artist myself, not having hands would be a problem but many folks (who don't have hands) do quite well without them & do beautiful art work.
If all humans were born without hands, some form of art would still be created. The tools used would be slightly different too.

      Apr 11 2013: Hi Gale,
I completely agree with you! There are so many kinds of art that doesn't need using hands or just can be made by another way, and so many talented people doing amazing things without hands! Thanks for your comment!
  • Apr 11 2013: If i think about it now, it does seem scary but i guess we would have developed new ways of creating art like using your tongue to paint and legs to assemble stuff.
