When I look at several recent TED videos, along with a backlog of others relating to products, A common trend is that an observable percentage have an issue either with
1. That there is little information on the product, its availability and its progress
2. That people feel tricked into watching a product placement
So why not provide a category of talks that directly provide invention demonstrations?
Not only will new, innovative and opensource designs/technology be made public and provide motivation for others, but people will also have access to the details they find are typically lacking in such TED videos and know beforehand that they are about to view a product placement.
