Social Equality? So share the expenses of the wealthy, too.

Assuming socialism is right, the rich should give the poor their money. Why does it not also follow that the poor must also then share in the risks/debts/expenses/hard work/smart work/saving money which the wealthy use to create economic wealth?

  • Apr 4 2013: Well guys I think that the wealthy have no obligation to share their wealth to the poor even if this wealthy person would willing to share the wealth he/she has. do you know why I said it? because if this poor people always get wealth from the wealthy then it will just make them become more lazy and will think that I dont have to work because the wealthy will always share their wealth, well ladies and gentleman, poor people does not mean they don't have the potential to become a wealthy person! I mean poor people is not all stupid, maybe amongst the poor there is a genius? maybe amongst the poor there is a natural hardworker? well what i mean here is the wealthy will share their wealth in a good way such as a scholarship for the hardworkers and geniuses..

Rowling, Sam Walton and Oprah Winfrey (to name a very few). All of these examples took more-or-less impoverished lives and became millionaires. With the same resources available as most others.

      Apr 4 2013: G’day Eric

I’m not for the wealthy just handing out money willy nilly to the poor but basic living standards need to be met under such an affluent society but it’s not. The wealthy are becoming wealthier but basic needs of the poor are diminishing or aren’t keeping pace with the rich.

Capitalism survives on keeping every individual in debt including whole countries that aren’t affluent, this is plainly wrong. We should do what the Icelanders have done jail the lot.

I’m sorry but this is what gives the US a bad name , a minority of people like yourself defending capitalism to the bitter end no matter what this system is doing to each & every individual it touches, it has no moral boundaries & that is scary!!

So what I mean here there had to be a BALANCE between the poor and the RICH and if you are rich, you can start helping the society of poor people by giving them food, or build a shelters or even give a scholarship !!

So I think that's all .. Thank you very much...

And by social equality I don't think that it means everyone gotta have the same amount of money, equality is based on what they did for living for example you can't expect the cleaning service will have the same amount of payment or wealth as the manager :)

Yes I agree a bit of equality would go a long way. You work for what you get which is simular to communism but in their case you work or you starve.

In Australia our health system is collapsing, if we can't afford health cover &/or medication you are left to die & this is in a so called Christian country but the rich are getting richer & of course can afford health cover &/or medication.

I'm not religious but please bring us back Christian values & allow it to work in unison with capitalism as that is the only way capitalism is going to be sustainable in the future I believe.

I'm taking about values as I have no religious beliefs myself Eric as it seems you can't mix religion with politics. Capitalism needs better values to work properly as it seems to me it has none Christian values would give it boundaries to abide by.
