Is the gut the key to disease?

There are more receptors in the gut that affect the brain than the entire body combined. Many researchers believe the entire immune system is affected more by gut health than all other systems in the body. They believe that all diseases, including autism, stroke, autoimmune diseases, heart disease, mental illness, and cancer could be dramatically reversed if more attention were paid to the gut. This would indicate that the leading cause of all disease lies in the damage to the gut. It is theorized by leading researchers that healing the gut will reverse the trend for most diseases. What are some of the damages that you think cause the most harm? How do you think the problem can be resolved? Do you believe this theory is an exaggeration? What do you believe is the core issue of healing?

  • Mar 22 2013: The facts that you begin with are generally undervalued and truly amazing when you think about it. And the gut is also reported to have an intelligence that is measurable, and a "brain" of it's own. This can be be a shift in perspective in that our skull brain is in fact merely a functionary of the gut. It only runs physical systems to survive and or prevail in various environments. The gut though is a multi-dimensional functioning unattributed reality and maybe effective respondent to what we perceive as free radicals and other minute but significant disease causing agents. A "gut" sense will prevail uopn you to not eat a certaain food, avoid an environment keep a level of cleanliness etc. Valued less than should be due to science findings such as your description above and so possibly further has gateway knowledge of the alternate unseen aspects that are attributed in physics theory to string and its nine dimensions.
