If you have NEVER been to Africa, when someone mentions "Africa" or you hear "Africa", what is the FIRST thing that comes into your mind?

People associate different regions/continent based on media, informational material, myths, stereotypes and such. The main idea of this discussion is to find out what people who never had "first hand experience" think about the continent. Thanks for your contribution.

  • Apr 4 2013: I think of the wonderful Arab world, the lands of Morocco, the deserts and a plethora of native animals. Sometimes I think of small African children playing and displaying their innocence and oblivion of what is to come.

      Apr 4 2013: Hey Sharmin,
I love the way you put it.....yes the Arab world is wonderful and great despite all the challenges.....
And yes, the children displaying their innocence, playing and playing as if nothing else matters....I miss those innocent days.....If I was to grow up again...I would definitely chose Kenya.....waking up in the morning....joining other children outside and playing till sunset...and parents are not bothered where you are.....and guess what...whichever home you visit that day...you are well fed....lol

      Love, Mary
