The de-extinction process has to be selective.

Even though the idea bringing back species that have gone extinct due to human intervention is absolutely brilliant, the species that have died out as part of natural selection should not be considered.
Their extinction has probably given way to new species.

  • Mar 22 2013: I agree, I also feel that bringing back species that have been extinct for a long time would be counter productive as the environment has been through massive change which would likely lead to them going extinct again.
