I am proposing that two small plastic boats attached to a huge plastic ball can save lives in the sea and during floods on still water.

Two small plastic boats with a vacuum filled with air on their bottom part.Their bottom part should look like the children floaters that are filled with air but for the boats they are to be made of hard plastic.Then a large ball made of hard plastic can help the two boats float on water as they can be attached on two opposite sides of the boat.The two boats can hold two people or children with same weight to protect them from catching wet as life saving missions are being taken on the sea or on still flood waters.

Mar 18 2013: ok im not going to keep trying to make you see why these are bad ideas i'm just going to say they are bad ideas and will never be adopted out of how inconvenient and unconventional they are

  Mar 19 2013: Well this is your opinion.I think everybody is free to change the design of the ball either we have only the boats filled with air without the ball.That could be another option provided people have something for emergency as a preparation for the rainy season which causes floods.
  Its not good to rule out before you yourself give it a try and if you can do nothing about about it,let those who have a heart of helping others like saving lives do something.

Mar 17 2013: so let me get this straight you want to make a giant hamster ball (which they already have) into a safety boat? why? why not just use a regular boat because after the flood or storm is over you can still use a boat but a giant ball is worthless and bulky

  Mar 18 2013: You have to understand that floods affect so many people in the world and many people are caught unawares.A plastic ball or a single floater boat is not heavy as a boat.It is easy to transport from one area to another and can be used at home unlike boats which people use only when they are either fishing or during sports.We need to save lives that could have been lost due to floods all over the world and this happens at different times of the year.The ball should not be as huge as you think for it to support floating.
  About the Vishea,It can help save lives lost due to plane crushes caused by poor weather conditions.It can also be used by the police during patrols or during war to attack both from the sea and air without having to change the means of transport.This is much economical than using both Helicopters and water proof boats.

Mar 17 2013: why would you ever do this? why not just use a boat and a helicopter like we already do nobody cares about being wet after having their lives saved from drowning

  Mar 17 2013: Let me start with the Vishea.Not every time is good for travel through the air or over water.Every thing that can move through the air can float on water.If for example weather changes during flight then landing on the sea and continue with the journey without being stuck could be a better option than when we have only Helicopter or just ship.
  It is more risky to stay below waters than being out of it especially when you were not prepared for that.One can for example sip dirty water and this can cause health problems in future.It is better to take care than to cure diseases.In other times the water could be very cold causing some other complications later or instantly.
  Think about it,you will find that it is necessary.

Can you please make a simple image for me and the Ted community to look in detail to your idea?
It's hard for me to comprehend your idea based on plain text.

Oh, and vacuum implies without air. But in the first sentence you propose vacuum filled with air.
In my mind it's or vacuum or filled with air. So i am a little confused.

What exactly is the function of the ball in the middle?
And why exactly should the boats be connected?

  Mar 16 2013: Hi, Air is known to be a very funny thing.It can invite itself where it is not invited.It is hard for me to believe that there is a vacuum without air.According to me air is available in everything even rock particles but it depends with the amount of air something holds that one can test or determine its amount.For example in an experiment to test availability of air in an open jar.The space that water occupies and air bubbles are seen as air escape shows the amount of space that can be occupied by a certain amount of air and water.
  A balloon that is not inflated has a certain percentage of air but the percentage that can inflate it is higher.
  I am sorry that according to me a vacuum is a space filled with air but without any other substance.

    Mar 17 2013: I get what you mean, indeed air is a light object and that's why floating objects like boats keep floating. Because the air is lighter then water.
    
    However notice that the scientific terminology of vacuum is empty.

    That means without air, without (02, no2 etc) Vacuum means nothing in it.
    You actually meant that your boats should be filled with air.

      Mar 17 2013: Yes ZX Style,they should be filled with air.The ball is to help the two boats balance and float on water because air in it shall also help thrust the boats upwards.I also proposed that the ball should be connected to a very long chain with a very heavy metal tied on its end to make the ball be stationary.You are allowed to change the design so that it can suite its purpose friend.

During the day water molecules hold to each other but not as tightly as during the night.During this day time moist air molecules that are forced to move upwards by suns rays keep boats on top of water and during the night water molecules which hold tightly to each other help boats to keep floating on water

      Mar 17 2013: Hi again, You have to forgive my not believing about the vacuum.I admit that Scientifically you are correct.
      The problem is that I don't believe things or facts as they are without satisfying prove.I must confess that even my High school PHYSICS teacher who was a White lady from Britain left me without understanding about a Vacuum. We had to proceed with the lesson because I was not the only student she was teaching.I was so questioning until teachers told me that I should accept facts in books fast enough for my exams, Best wishes,bye.

    And does it need a motor?
    And in what problems will you need it?

      Mar 18 2013: The boats does not need a motor.They only need to float on water.They can also have a handle for pulling them over water to get children out of dangerous flooded areas.The boats and ball are light to carry and can be used at home unlike boats which are heavy and cannot float on shallow waters which makes them difficult to use at home for emergency purposes.

      Mar 21 2013: There is another thing I had proposed and it was published:The Vishea that can move over water and through the air.It can land on land or on water.It looks on top like an Helicopter and below like a boat.It has two engines for flight and sailing on opposite sides.It could also be used for saving victims of floods,Storms,Tsunami or a capsized boats fast enough because it can fly to the scene and land there for a fast safety measures.

  Mar 17 2013: Yes Charles, I am optimistic that it is possible to make it a reality.The two boats connected to a large ball and the three filled with air so as to help them stay on water even after weight is applied on them because of pressure.
  Every body is free to change the design or to implement it for it to perform its purpose.

  Mar 17 2013: Hi, The two floater boats connected to a ball can be used by adults and holder children mostly at home during floods because they can float on shallow waters.For young kids only one floater boat filled with air is enough.When parents want to get their children out of flooded area and the children are young they can use a floater boat with a lid and holes on top to pull the children over waters.For the floater boats with a ball,they should also be connected to a long chain attached to a heavy metal to stabilize the ball and prevent it from moving away.
