Were you happier in the pre-internet era?

I am wondering if the pre internet era was a better time to live in.

Because nowadays friends and family seem to have less attention and care for one another.
It also seems to me that people are less passionate and i rarely see people with sparks in their eyes anymore.
This makes me wondering if these times are better or not.
And if not, do we have to do something about it?

Is this just me?
Am i nostalgic and exaggerating?
Am i living in the wrong environment?

Please let me know your thoughts on this!

  • Feb 27 2013: I think the most amazing things happened because of the Internet. Not only for individual interaction with their friends and families far away but also for engagement within their community by finding people with similar interests.

Yes there will be some cases where individuals will be too absorbed by the Internet and perhaps spend less time with their friends and families but overall I think people will communicate more and use more opportunities to meet and spend time with each other?
    • Feb 28 2013: The most amazing things have happened, but also in a negative way.
Is there a way to maintain a balance between a healthy online and ofline life?
      • Mar 1 2013: Yes I think most of us have find that balance while greatly benefiting from access to the Internet.
