If you could do anything in your life over again, what would you do?

If you could maintain the hindsight you have now, what would you do-over in life? Why did you choose this event? What would you do differently?

    Mar 1 2013: Everything. I'd just like to start over from somewhere between ages 2-5 with what I know now. With the ability to push for my rights, and to self teach maybe things would have gone differently.

    Feb 26 2013: If I could have chosen differently, I would have. My biggest point of no return happened when I was 4.5, so I couldn't articulate the problem and why I believed so fervently in the opposite of what I was being told. I was totally dependent on others to take care of me. So, using hindsight, if I were to go back and re-choose, I would go back farther still and re-choose the parents that I was born to (though they tried their personal bests and I hold no grudges because they too would have chosen differently if they had known things I knew).

    Feb 26 2013: I worked as a media advocate in my late teens and early twenties. I worked in a radio station pro-bono; and spoke against social ills like teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, rape and female genital mutilation.
    At that time most people thought I was too young to be talking about such; but I was too passionate to listen to their objections. I had to use my pocket money at that time to fund some of these things and I was like a fool for even caring (since my parents were considered elites and I need not worry if the society burns or explodes): but looking back, I will say that it was worth it.

    I`m still involved in media advocacy on another level(may not be able to do certain things without being paid as it was in the past) ; I still make sure that my voice is heard.

    I was not a fool then; neither am I now.

    Feb 26 2013: There were opportunities I didn't take as a university undergraduate that would have made better sense to learn in school with the sort of resources and mentoring available there rather than to pursue them on my own later. There are other subjects that were easy for me to learn later independently.

    But as a young college student, I didn't yet value breadth, instead just pouring on the pure mathematics with some science around the edges.

    Now I encourage students headed to university to take advantage of the most engaging teachers, almost regardless of their fields, alongside the areas in which the student may be specializing.

    ''Yes.'' Billy in fact, had a paperweight in his office which was a blob of polished amber with three ladybugs embedded in it.
    ''Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why.''

    Feb 25 2013: On the one hand, my list would be pretty long, I expect. On the other, if I were to change anything, I would not be who I am today. So, I guess I would change nothing.
