Are reality shows good for society?

Reality shows like Big Boss, Roadies are nowadays became the demand of Indian youth. But this kinda reality shows giving wrong message to our society by the abusive language used in the show.....this entertainment is becoming a curse to the society.....plz share urban views....

    Feb 25 2013: It is simply supply and demand .... if it did not have sponsors the media would not cover it ... report it ... or air it.

    However, IMO it does have a use. Everyonce in a while it erases defective genes from the gene pool.

        Feb 26 2013: Anshul, Many things happen that I do not agree with ... Cultures see small shifts and changes all of the time. My Grandparents said that Rock and Roll would ruin the world ... My generations partents went to work and had no mother in the house like "Leave It To Beaver" .... Today we have much sexually explicit materials available, drugs, Hate Rap music, .... I am concerned with these things. However they are in demand and those who supply it do not use drugs, go to Rap concerts or buy the records, or participate in the sales, use, or distribution of porn ... they are the rich guy on the hill over town and totally isolated from the issues ... the money is laundered and put into their bank account.

        There is nothing that says we have to like the change ... the question is what can you do to minimize the impact on you and those you love. If you go into your kids room and make threats, demands, and creat a divide between you and your child you will lose ... maybe for a short time and maybe forever. We must find the right tools to make a valid and lasting argument and even then the final decision is up to our kids.

        Some of these things are fads and will go away ... some will stay and die our with aging of the group ... some will become entrenched.

        Work to effect change on the thing you can change and be capable of knowing that which you cannot change.
