Do you guys believe that biker gangs should be illegal?

I am writing a persuasive essay and I was wondering what the public thought about that topic.

Feb 22 2013: The way your question is worded it appears that biker gangs are not legal now. You might change the word "legal" to "illegal"?
Anyway, I don't think anything should be prohibited by law unless it is contrary to the public good. It is difficult to claim to be a free country while having laws which prohibit certain groups, types, or organizations. To make it a crime to form and operate a social organization based upon a common affinity for motorcycles is totalitarian and un-American. Absolutely YES! Biker gangs should remain legal.

    Feb 27 2013: There may be a problem with stereotyping here. Many people associate violence and illegal activity with the term "biker gang". It is worth considering that not all motorcycle based social organizations should be outlawed. A more intelligent approach would be to prosecute illegal activity while leaving law-abiding groups alone.
