What would be the overall affect of trying to re-engineer the mosquito?

This is great idea in theory, the thing is the genetic re-engineering, how about the evolution of the mosquito, if they are able to mutate and overcome that or even if it made the males strong enough to be able to bite as well? It is a great mixture of science and technology and good theory, but what are the down falls from it. Also what about the animals that’s food source is the mosquito?

Feb 16 2013: Raymond, predicting the evolution and mutation of species is still one of the major challenges of genetic reengineering. The answer to your question 'What about the animals that feed on the mosquito?", is in your first question. Inorder to survive, the creatures can evolve by choosing another insect as their food source.
